About Misa
Hi, I'm Michael - I make weird guitars that talk to synthesizers. Misa started over a decade ago because I heard some electronic music that sounded like a robot was trying to play heavy metal and I thought, "hey, that’s illegal… but also kind of awesome". I couldn’t stop thinking, what if a guitar could do that?
That idea got under my skin and stayed. Life happened, detours came and went, but the vision - of a digital guitar that smashes boundaries and rewires what we think about sound and performance - never faded.
Fast-forward to today: my new digital guitars are the culmination of years of experimentation and every lesson learned along the way. This isn’t about imitation; it’s about creating something entirely its own. A future instrument for a future sound.
Mission
Misa customers believe in transforming live performance in electronic music. The goal is simple: build the best digital guitars in the world - instruments that make it easy to harness the power of synths, while preserving (and even expanding) the techniques you love on traditional guitar. Whether it’s gliding between notes, unleashing rapid-fire picking, or exploring untapped sonic frontiers, Misa guitars are designed to push musical boundaries in ways keyboards can’t.
Why I Do This
Because music’s supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be expressive. And honestly, I just love building things that shouldn’t exist but somehow do. By supporting Misa, you’re backing a passion-driven company dedicated to reshaping what a live electronic music performance can be.
