Exceptional craft & design

Sleek and Durable
Crafted with robust materials and zero moving parts, the Quadwave resists mechanical failures. This gives you reliable performance whether you’re jamming in your bedroom or headlining a festival.

Ready for Both Lefties & Righties
The strap hooks can be reconfigured for whichever way you play. No additional hardware, no fuss - just adjust and go.

Advanced capacitive sensing neck

High Performance, Low Latency
The neck’s capacitive sensors are engineered for lightning-fast response. Tap a fret, and the note triggers, capturing every subtle slide and hammer-on.

4-String, 16-Fret Layout
A streamlined setup that emphasizes creativity without overwhelming you. The Quadwave focuses on the essentials, offering just enough range for both melodic leads and expressive riffs - while ensuring your playing flow stays smooth and intuitive.

Recessed String Tracks
Slide your fingers without worrying about accidentally hitting another string. The Quadwave’s design embraces smooth playing techniques while adding that extra layer of control for expressive synth work.

Touchpad: Multi-dimensional sound control

Full Expression
The X/Y pad isn’t just for pitch-bend or mod - it can control any MIDI (CC) assignable parameter in your synth software. Move your finger horizontally to tweak the filter cutoff; slide vertically to change the resonance - the choice is up to you.

Effortless Flexibility
Tap the pad to start a note, and it keeps playing even if you lift your hand off the pad. Want to morph the sound right as the note begins? You can do that too. The pad updates your synth’s controls at the exact moment you touch it.

USB-C MIDI Connectivity

Plug & Play
The Quadwave is class-compliant USB-MIDI, so it works with most laptops and computers right out of the box. No drivers needed - just connect the 3-meter USB-C to USB-A cable included, and you’re good to go.

Studio or Stage? Your Call
Send MIDI to your favorite software synths (like Vital or Serum) in a DAW (such as Ableton) or use a hardware synth with a USB-MIDI host. It’s all about versatility.

Built-In Strain Relief
The USB-C port area includes cable strain relief to protect against accidental pulls or cable tension - no more worrying about damaging your port mid-show. This extra durability is ideal for performers who need a reliable connection day in and day out.

The magic of monophonic - with polyphonic options

Monophonic Brilliance
Out of the box, the Quadwave focuses on monophonic performance. Only one note sounds at a time, giving you those flowing synth glides, hammer-ons, and slides that define classic electronic tones.

Go Poly in a Snap
Want more layers? By tapping five fingers on the pad, you can switch routing so that each string can send its signals to different synths—perfect for stacked textures or complex chord arrangements. In the highest-level setup, all four strings can be sent to separate synths, letting you slide entire chords seamlessly.

Configuration Tool: Customize your Quadwave

Reconfigure Your Presets Anytime
The Quadwave ships with three built-in presets, which you can quickly switch between by pressing five fingers on the pad. With our configuration tool (installed on your computer), you can dive deeper into each preset’s settings and truly make them your own.

  • Assign different tunings to each preset, and decide which MIDI channel each string should send data on. Assign the touchpanel controls to any CC control number to shape your sound exactly how you like.
  • Firmware Updates & New Features
Stay up-to-date with the latest Quadwave enhancements. Install firmware updates through the configuration tool to access new capabilities and performance improvements as soon as they’re released.

Testimonials

Already tried the instrument: a dream come true, as simple as that. It is not even that I like (love) the Quadwave, it is the fact that it works. Period.

Product details

Important - Please Read Before Purchasing
  • This instrument is designed to be connected to a computer with a low latency audio interface. Without one, you may experience a noticeable delay between playing a note and hearing the sound, which can disrupt timing and responsiveness, especially in live or precise performance settings.
  • The touchpanel is opaque - it is not a graphical screen like the Kitara.
  • The X/Y touchpad has a narrow inactive zone around its four edges. This inactive zone does not sense touches. If you are dragging your finger on the touchpad and approach the edge of the active zone, both LEDs will rapidly flash white as a visual indicator. For best results, start your touch or finger movements within the active area. Slowly dragging from the inactive zone to the active zone may delay detection; faster movement from the edge ensures a more consistent response.
  • Please read the Reference Manual here before purchasing.
  • The Quadwave ships from Taiwan. For US customers, the $799 price falls below the $800 duty-free threshold - so you generally won't face extra customs / duty charges. For shipping to other countries, import duties or taxes may apply depending on your location and local regulations.

FAQs

Is the Quadwave a traditional guitar or just a MIDI controller?

The Quadwave is a fully digital MIDI controller shaped like a guitar, designed for expressive electronic music performance. It doesn’t produce sound on its own - you connect it to a computer to generate audio.

Do I need special drivers to use the Quadwave?

No. The Quadwave is class-compliant USB-MIDI, which means it should work with most computers right away. Just plug it into your Mac or PC, open your DAW or synth software, and start playing.

Can I set up the Quadwave for left-handed play?

Absolutely. The strap hooks can be reconfigured for left or right-handed use with minimal effort. No extra accessories or modifications are needed. In left-handed play, the USB cable will exit on the top side of the unit.

How do I switch between monophonic and polyphonic configurations?

By default, the Quadwave is set to monophonic across all strings on a single MIDI channel ("blue LED mode"). To expand to polyphonic (multiple strings on separate channels), simply press five fingers on the pad to switch between presets. By default, the yellow LED mode splits the strings so that the first outputs to MIDI channel 1, and the others output to MIDI channel 2. In the purple LED mode, all strings output to separate MIDI channels. You can customize these using the configuration tool on your computer.

Does the Quadwave need an external power source?

No. The Quadwave is powered via USB. As long as it’s plugged into a compatible computer, USB-MIDI host, or powered USB hub, you’re all set.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. We offer a one year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Does the Quadwave work with all DAWs and synths?

In most cases, yes. The Quadwave sends standard MIDI data that should be compatible with any DAW or synth that supports MIDI input. If you’re using hardware synths without a direct USB port, you’ll need a USB-MIDI host box to translate the signal.

Daft Punk - Something About Us

In this video, we're playing the iconic "Something About Us" solo by Daft Punk on a Misa Quadwave digital guitar. On the left side of the touchpad, we're controlling the main lead sound that captures the smooth, dreamy vibe of the original track. Then, any time we tap on the right side of the touchpad, a sequenced synth layer kicks in, adding extra dimension and texture to the performance.

Balatro - Main Theme

A commenter asked me if we could try playing the Balatro video game theme on the Misa Quadwave!

The touchpad has been configured to control several aspects of the sound. Notice how, by tapping more on the right side of the pad, the sound becomes more distorted. This is actually controlling the speed of an LFO, and it gets faster as the taps move further to the right. When tapping on the left, the sound is cleaner.

Also in this video, we utilize the pitch bend feature. By tapping with 4 fingers on the pad, the touchpad behaves like a pitch wheel, allowing us to pitch up or down the sound, like a digital whammy bar.

Prodigy - Breathe

Messing around on the Misa Quadwave digital guitar, with a patch that we thought sounded a bit like the guitar sound on the track Breathe by the Prodigy. Breathe is a track featured on their album The Fat of the Land, and it's one of the group's most iconic songs.

The main sound is a reese bass from Vital, and when we tap on the left side of the touchpad, the sound changes to a synthesized scream.
